Your videos stay on your device. The only information that leaves it is anonymous usage and crash data, plus what Google needs in order to show a single banner ad.
MoveLens is made by SwiftyApp. This policy explains what the app does with data, and what it does not do.
Your videos
Videos you import are copied into MoveLens’s own storage on your device, byte for byte, with no re-encoding. They are never uploaded, never sent to me, and never shared with anyone else. Notes and favourites you add stay on the device alongside them.
Saved videos are excluded from iCloud backup, so they do not consume your iCloud storage. This also means they are not restored to a new device from a backup, and that deleting MoveLens deletes them.
There is no account and no sign-in. Nothing you do in MoveLens is tied to an identity I hold.
What is collected
Usage analytics — Google Firebase Analytics
MoveLens records anonymous events describing how the app is used: which screens are opened, how videos are imported, which features are used, and the steps of the in-app purchase flow. It also records a small number of properties about the install — how many videos are saved and roughly how much space they take, both as broad ranges rather than exact numbers, and whether ads have been removed. No filenames, no video content and no notes are ever included.
Crash reports — Google Firebase Crashlytics
If MoveLens crashes, a report is sent on the next launch containing the crash itself, the device model and iOS version, and a short trail of what the app was doing beforehand. That trail is drawn from a fixed list of app actions; by design it cannot contain a filename or anything you typed.
Advertising — Google AdMob
The free version of MoveLens shows one banner ad. Google receives the technical information it needs to serve and measure that ad, such as device and general location information and an ad identifier. The app does not ask for permission to track you, does not read Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), and is built against the version of Google’s library that omits it entirely.
Purchases
The optional Remove Ads purchase is processed entirely by Apple. I receive no payment details — only whether an Apple Account is entitled to the purchase.
Why
Analytics and crash reports exist to tell me which parts of the app are used and what is broken, so that the next version is better. Ads pay for a free app, and can be removed permanently with a one-time purchase.
Who receives data
Google, as the provider of Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and AdMob, and Apple, as the operator of the App Store handling purchases. Nobody else. Data is not sold, and there is nothing to sell — none of it is tied to a person.
Where MoveLens is available
MoveLens is not offered in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. That is why the app does not present a consent prompt before collecting the data described above.
Children
MoveLens is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your choices
- Removing ads with the in-app purchase stops ad requests.
- iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and → Apple Advertising, control what advertisers can use across all apps.
- Deleting MoveLens removes every video and note it holds, immediately and permanently.
- To ask what is held about your install, or to have it deleted, write to info@swiftyapp.ca. Because nothing is tied to an identity, I may need the approximate dates and the device in order to find anything at all.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are noted on this page.
